NDS honours PeopleKind’s Group CEO, Gordon Trewern

NDS (National Disability Services) has honoured - Opens in new tab two long-serving contributors to the peak body with the President’s Service Award. The Award is presented to people who have provided excellent service to NDS. - Opens in new tab

One recipient, being our very own Group CEO of PeopleKind Group - Opens in new tab and former NDS Director, Gordon Trewern! Gordon was recognised for 40 years in disability services, 15 years of which he sat on the NDS board.

In presenting Gordon with his President’s Service Award at the NDS’s CEOs’ Meeting in November, Rohan Braddy thanked Gordon “for his long and valuable contribution to NDS’s work and the sector more broadly.”

Gordon joined Nulsen Disability Services - Opens in new tab as a support worker in 1982. In 1989, he became the coordinator of accommodation services, and was appointed CEO in 1994.

In his forty years at Nulsen, recently rebranded as PeopleKind Group - Opens in new tab, he has lead the organisation to evolve from a custodial care provider, to a multi-faceted parent company to organisations which deliver housing, disability services, allied health, justice, child protection, reintegration and more.
